About the opportunity Based in Brisbane, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Receivable Officer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts, issuing invoices, processing payments, reconciling accounts, following up on outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
You will work closely with customers and internal teams to resolve account queries and ensure timely collection of payments.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
About the role Prepare new customer account applications for approval by the Finance Manager
Set up new customer accounts in system, forward approval documents to new account holders and maintain customers within credit terms and limit
Raise invoices and credits (including rebates) for all customers orders in the system, forward copies to customers and monitor credits
Process payments received into system on daily basis
Process customer payments by cheque and credit card
Maintain and report sales data to related positions
Process orders and associated paperwork for special projects / contracts
Enter stock adjustments, including quarterly stock take
Perform general administrative and clerical duties within Finance Department
Assist other departments when able to if requested or directed and sanctioned
Resolve large number of collection calls
Attend to client enquiries, via email and telephone
Comply with all applicable legislative, regulatory, and statutory requirements, and adhere to internal governance frameworks, including company policies, procedures, and codes of conduct,
to support organisational accountability and risk management obligations. About you Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role, industry experience is desired but not essential
Strong AR knowledge, with preferably debt collection experience
Must possess strong numeracy and communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated and ability to work independently
High attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure
Strong time management skills.
