Christ Church Cathedral is the Cathedral church of the Diocese of Newcastle, located in the heart of the city of Newcastle, Recent South Wales. As a prominent place of Anglican worship and witness, the Cathedral gathers for regular services shaped by Word and Sacrament, enriched by a strong choral tradition and a rhythm of prayer that reflects its central role in diocesan and civic life. The Cathedral community is diverse, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds, and is committed to fostering a vibrant life of discipleship, hospitality, and service.

As both a parish church and the seat of the Bishop, the Cathedral plays a key role in supporting diocesan ministry, while also engaging meaningfully with the wider community and visitors. We are seeking a Dean who will faithfully teach the Scriptures, lead worship with depth and reverence, and provide pastoral and strategic leadership within this unique setting. The role calls for a priest who can nurture the spiritual life of the Cathedral community, support its ministry of music and liturgy, and strengthen its outreach and engagement in the life of the city and Diocese.
