The Clean Energy Regulator is seeking an experienced APS6 AI Developer to help design, configure, deploy and continuously improve enterprise AI agents and generative AI solutions.
Working within a flexible hybrid environment, the successful candidate will use Microsoft Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI services and generative AI technologies to develop secure, scalable and business-focused AI capabilities.
The role combines AI development, agent configuration, cloud integration, prompt engineering, automation and responsible AI, with a strong focus on integrating AI capabilities into the Microsoft enterprise ecosystem, including SharePoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
This is an opportunity to contribute to practical AI adoption within a Commonwealth Government workplace and help translate emerging AI capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities The APS6 AI Developer will:
Design, configure, deploy and maintain AI agents using Microsoft Azure AI Foundry.
Develop agents supporting use cases including summarisation, document drafting, knowledge retrieval, workflow assistance and decision support.
Tailor AI agents to specific business and user requirements.
Design and continuously improve prompts, workflows, instructions, templates and agent behaviours.
Integrate AI agents with enterprise information and collaboration platforms including SharePoint, Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
Develop code and supporting components required for AI-powered applications and automation.
Integrate generative AI models and Azure AI services with existing cloud and enterprise infrastructure.
Test and optimise agents for accuracy, relevance, reliability, performance and usability.
Implement appropriate controls for privacy, security,
responsible AI, bias, fairness and ethical use of AI.
Contribute to solution architecture reviews and transition-to-service activities.
Support AI risk management, benefits realisation and reporting.
Benchmark AI-agent performance against relevant CER and Australian Government/DTA standards.
Analyse user feedback, surveys and usage information to improve AI solutions.
Support cross-application AI functionality and insight generation.
Assist with AI/Copilot adoption, onboarding and organisational change activities.
Develop user guides, learning materials and other enablement content.
Deliver or support user training, demonstrations and workshops. Job RequirementsSkills and Experience

Relevant Microsoft Azure and AI certifications will be highly regarded.

Management and AI Adoption
Describe how you have supported change management, user adoption and organisational enablement for generative AI or similar emerging technologies, including training, communication, documentation and stakeholder engagement.
