Trainer/Mentor - Civils/Trades Pathways
Inspire the next generation of Western Australia's workforce
Motivation Foundation is looking for an energetic, hands-on and passionate Trainer/Mentor to help develop the skills, confidence and employability of young Western Australians.
This is not your typical training role.
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with young people, sharing practical skills, building projects, solving problems and helping others achieve their potential. Whether your background is in civil construction, building trades, plant operations, mechanical, fabrication, maintenance, or a related industry, we'd love to hear from you.
If you're the type of person who can turn practical tasks into learning opportunities and genuinely enjoys seeing young people succeed, this could be the role for you.
About Motivation Foundation
Since 2008, Motivation Foundation has been helping young Western Australians develop the skills, behaviours and confidence needed to enter the workforce.
Through nationally recognised training programs and practical, hands-on learning, we support school students and young people who may be disengaged from mainstream education to create meaningful pathways into employment.
Our purpose is easy:
"To educate and develop life and employability skills for individuals and groups from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds."
Every day we help young people discover what they're capable of and build brighter futures.
About the Role
Based at our West Swan Training Academy, you will work alongside our training team delivering practical learning experiences that prepare students for employment and further training opportunities.
No two days are the same.
You may be:

- Delivering selected training units within your area of expertise
- Building, maintaining or improving training resources and projects
- Teaching safe work practices and workplace expectations
- Mentoring young people and supporting their personal development
- Helping students develop employability skills and confidence
- Creating engaging hands-on learning experiences
This role would suit a practical "person of all trades" who enjoys variety and takes pride in passing on their knowledge.

You will ideally bring:

- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The ability to connect with and motivate young people

- A genuine desire to develop the next generation workforce

- Civil Construction
- Building and Construction
- Mechanical Trades
- Plant/Equipment Operations
- Welding and Fabrication

- Landscaping or Earthworks
- Mining Support Services
- General Trade Based Industries
Essential Requirements

- Current driver's licence
Highly Regarded
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116/TAE40122) or equivalent
- Experience in training, mentoring, coaching or supervising apprentices, trainees or young people
- Civil construction qualifications and plant operation competencies
Don't have all the training qualifications?
If you're the right person, Motivation Foundation is willing to support you in obtaining the necessary training and qualifications.
Why Join Motivation Foundation?
