The Opportunity
We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join our dynamic Carey Marine and Civil division.
About the Project
The project involves the construction and commissioning of a Temporary SWRO Facility and associated infrastructure, including:
- Civil and structural works
- Buildings and containerised facilities
- Mechanical and piping installations
- Electrical infrastructure and power distribution
- Control systems and instrumentation
- Process equipment installation and commissioning
- Integration with future permanent SWRO infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems.
- Provide onsite support to project teams for audits, investigations, mobilisations, and demobilisations.
- Ensure incident reports and investigations are completed in accordance with company procedures and recorded accurately in MyOSH, with control actions tracked to close-out.
- Meet all HSE reporting obligations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote and model Carey’s safety-first culture through proactive engagement and communication.
About You
You’ll bring a strong foundation in HSE practice, with a genuine commitment to safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
You will have:
- 5+years’ proven experience in civil construction and process mining environments.
- Practical knowledge of ISO standards, auditing practices, and Australian safety legislation.
- A solid understanding of behavioural-based safety systems and experience in their implementation.
- Demonstrated success in fostering a solid, positive safety culture within high-risk industries.
- Proven experience in developing and maintaining HSEQ management systems and documentation.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Tertiary and/or vocational qualification in Work Health Safety & Environment (essential).
- Cert IV in Training & Assessment (essential).
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- ICAM or TapRoot incident investigation training (preferred).
- Internal Auditing Qualification (Preferred)
Additional Requirements
- Willingness to travel to remote sites and work on a 2:1 FIFO roster.
- Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working autonomously.
