Cubic Transportation Systems – Southport QLD

The Field Service Technician provides front line support of Automated Ticketing Systems and provides a fast response maintenance service to all users throughout the network. Responsibilities include scheduled preventative maintenance and remedial maintenance on local/wide area networks; software rollouts, and vandalism call outs to ensure an effective and efficient ticketing system that operates at its optimum performance level. This position typically works under general supervision and direction.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- Interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Perform varied technical duties involving the use of a wide range of procedures and tools, including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets on either fixed OR mobile assets
- Apply specialised technical knowledge to problem solve difficult or complex situations
- May operate diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults to component level
- Resolve complex/critical failure situations
- Report to supervisors or other responsible personnel any potential non-conformance or problems
- Follow specific verbal/written instructions relating to work assignments
- Be responsible for quality of work performed
- Maintain service records or reports in accordance with Company procedures
- Resolve verbal and written customer technical enquiries
- Maximise productive output by efficient use of time and materials
- Provide new system installation and system upgrades
- Suggest ways of improving methods and procedures to meet the quality policy objectives of the Company
- Report all WHSE incidents, potential hazards, near misses and accidents

General Duties and Responsibilities:

- Comply with Cubic’s Quality Management System
- Comply with Cubic Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures




- Comply with security in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Comply with Cubic Human Resources Procedures
- Other duties as requested

Qualifications:

- Drivers License – current open license (i.e. not a Learner and not a P-Plater) with a clean driving record

Additional Requirements

- WH&S; Generic Induction card (also known as a ‘White Card’) - CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
- Working in Electrified Territory (WET) certification – QR 3.15 Working in the Electrified Territory
- Safely Access the Rail Corridor (SARC) certification – QR 3.2 Safely Access the Rail Corridor
- CAT 3 Medical (Audiometry Assessment, Vision Testing, Musculoskeletal Screen, Drug & Alcohol)
- Rail Industry Worker card (RIW)
- Relevant experience within a Field Services setting
- Knowledge and understanding of the IT Service Management (ITSM) system
- Knowledge and understanding electrical and mechanical schematics
- Able to perform a variety of technical duties, including remedial and preventative maintenance of customer equipment and assets on either fixed OR mobile assets
- May require knowledge of diagnostic systems to debug and isolate complex faults to component level
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, and members of the public
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated electronic servicing skills to a component level
