Assistant Venue Manager – Full Time

We're looking for an experienced Assistant Venue Manager to help lead one of Darwin's newest hospitality venues. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys developing people, team culture, delivering exceptional guest experiences, driving profitability, and creating a safe, welcoming environment for both patrons and staff.
You'll work closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations across the bar, restaurant, gaming, entertainment, and events while leading from the front.
About the Role
As Assistant Venue Manager, you'll play a key role in the successful operation of the venue by:
- Leading and motivating a large hospitality team.
- Delivering exceptional customer service standards.
- Supervising daily venue operations across food, beverage and gaming.
- Managing staff rosters, labour costs and productivity.
- Coaching, mentoring and developing team members.
- Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and service.
- Ensuring compliance with the NT Liquor Act, RSA requirements, WHS legislation and venue policies.
- Monitoring stock control, ordering, wastage and cost of goods.
- Assisting with budgeting, financial reporting and achieving KPI targets.
- Managing incidents professionally and maintaining a safe environment for guests and staff.
- Supporting entertainment, promotions and special events.
- Acting as Venue Manager during leave and rostered absences.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with:
- Previous leadership experience in a busy pub,
hotel or licensed venue.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage operations.
- Experience managing and building teams in high-volume environments.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style.
- Solid organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commercial acumen with an understanding of labour, GP and operational costs.
- Confidence making decisions under pressure.
- A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
Essential Requirements
- Current NT RSA Certificate.
- Current NT RSG Certificate
- Current driver's licence.
- Availability to work nights, weekends and public holidays.
- Full Australian working rights.
Highly Regarded
- Gaming Machine Manager's Licence.
- Gaming and Keno experience.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Experience with H&L; POS and Deputy systems.
- Strong Knowledge of the NT hospitality industry.
