Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, in office role based at the Total Tools store in Shepparton, VIC. This position supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including supervising team members, managing stock levels, and ensuring merchandising and store presentation standards are met.
The Assistant
Manager helps drive sales performance by coaching the team, delivering excellent customer service, and providing product advice to trade and professional customers. The role includes coordinating opening and closing procedures, monitoring store performance metrics,
and supporting compliance with company policies and safety requirements.
The Assistant
Manager also assists in local marketing initiatives, training new team members, and contributing to a positive, results-focused team culture.
Qualifications
Experience in retail or trade-focused environments, with skills in team leadership, staff supervision, and performance coaching.
Robust customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide product guidance and support to professional customers.
Competence in store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, cash handling, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.
Solid communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer applications; exposure to retail reporting or ERP systems is beneficial.
Ability to work on-site full time, including weekends or extended trading hours as required, and to perform manual handling tasks safely.
Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role is highly regarded; trade or hardware industry experience is an advantage.
Relevant vocational or tertiary qualifications in retail, business, or management are beneficial but not mandatory.
