Explore opportunities at careers. teradata. com About The Role This internship is part of Teradata's Services & Consulting practice in Australia. As an intern, you will work alongside experienced consultants and data engineers to help Australian enterprises harness the power of data.
You will be exposed to real client engagements, enterprise data platforms, and the full lifecycle of analytics consulting — from discovery and design through to delivery and value realisation. This is a structured program designed to build your consulting acumen, technical depth, and professional skills within a supportive and cooperative team environment.
Educational Requirements
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field from a recognised Australian or international university
Strong academic record (Credit average or above preferred)
Must be able to achieve and hold an Australian Government Security Clearance
Penultimate and final year students encouraged to apply Technical Skills Must Have Proficiency in SQL — writing and optimising queries for large-scale data environments
Exposure to at least one programming or scripting language: Python, Java, or similar
Understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and basic cloud services
Ability to work with and interpret data: data profiling, data quality, and data transformation Good to Have Exposure to Teradata Vantage or other enterprise data warehouse technologies
Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar
Understanding of ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline concepts
Knowledge of agile project delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
Familiarity with UNIX/Linux environments and shell scripting
Exposure to machine learning concepts or tools (scikit-learn, TensorFlow, etc. ) Consulting & Professional Skills Strong verbal and written communication skills — ability to explain technical concepts clearly to business stakeholders
Structured problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Professional attitude and confidence when working with clients and senior stakeholders
Curiosity, initiative, and a strong desire to learn and grow Key Responsibilities Assist consulting teams in the delivery of data and analytics projects for Australian enterprise clients across industries including financial services, telecommunications, retail, and government
Support business and technical requirements gathering — participating in workshops, documenting findings, and translating business needs into analytical or technical specifications
Contribute to the design, development, and testing of data solutions on Teradata Vantage and cloud analytics platforms
Assist in data profiling, data quality assessment, and data migration activities as part of broader platform modernisation or cloud migration engagements
Help develop client-facing materials including solution designs, test plans, status reports,
and project documentation
Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions, team standups, and internal capability-building initiatives
Work closely with project managers, senior consultants, and technical leads to support end-to-end delivery
