Azure Integration Developer / Specialist | 12-month Max Term Contract | Perth, Western Australia

The role

We are recruiting an experienced Azure Integration Developer for an engagement with one of our clients - a large, complex Western Australian organisation with a substantial Azure estate.

This is a hands-on build role with real variety. You would work across a range of integration projects rather than being tied to a single initiative - designing and building the integrations that connect cloud and on-premises systems, third party platforms and enterprise services, along with the security, automation and operational tooling that keeps them running.

One of the initial named workstreams is automating the organisation's certificate lifecycle, which brings in Azure Key Vault, DigiCert, ServiceNow and certificate deployment into a Java estate. Other work is more conventional integration delivery - APIs, messaging and event-driven patterns.

If you like owning integration problems end to end in a large, varied environment, rather than building features inside a single product, this will suit you.

What you would be doing

- Designing and building integration solutions using Azure Integration Services - Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid and Data Factory
- Developing, publishing, securing and versioning APIs, with the right authentication, throttling and policy configuration
- Implementing messaging and event-driven patterns - queues, topics, publish-subscribe, retry, dead-lettering and idempotency
- Automating the certificate lifecycle - Azure Key Vault storage and auto-renewal, DigiCert issuance, ServiceNow request and inventory workflows, and deployment of renewed certificates into Java keystores and middleware
- Implementing authentication and authorisation using Microsoft Entra ID,



managed identities, service principals and OAuth 2.0
- Building deployment pipelines with infrastructure defined as code, and monitoring with Application Insights, Log Analytics and Azure Monitor
- Producing solution documentation and runbooks someone else can actually operate from, and handing completed work into business-as-usual support

What you will need

These are the essentials - we are looking for all six.

- Hands-on Azure integration development using Azure Integration Services - Logic Apps and Azure Functions, together with API Management and either Service Bus or Event Grid
- Sound integration and API design judgement - REST, JSON, messaging, event-driven patterns, error handling, retry and idempotency
- Azure security fundamentals applied in practice - Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, and Azure Key Vault for secrets management
- Working knowledge of TLS/SSL and digital certificates - chain of trust, certificate signing requests, common formats and conversions (PEM, DER, PFX/PKCS#12, JKS), and safe handling of private key material
- Scripting in PowerShell, Bash or Python, and confidence working with REST APIs and command line tooling
- Experience delivering within enterprise change, security and architecture governance

On that fourth point - we mean understanding certificates, not memorising a particular tool. If you know how trust chains and key material work, the specific products are learnable.

What would set you apart The certificate workstream is where this role gets specific.



We are particularly interested in hands-on experience in any of the following. You do not need all four - real experience in a couple of these will stand out.

- Azure Key Vault certificate management, including integrated certificate authority configuration - not just secrets
- Working with a commercial certificate authority such as DigiCert - issuance, validation and renewal at organisational scale
- Java keystores and truststores, keytool, and configuring TLS on Java application servers or middleware
- ServiceNow platform or workflow development - Flow Designer, CMDB or ITOM, beyond simply calling the REST API

Also valuable, not deal breakers: C# and .NET development · API Management depth · Azure DevOps pipelines and infrastructure as code (Bicep, ARM or Terraform) · hybrid integration to on-premises systems · Azure Data Factory · Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss/WildFly or WebSphere · delivery in higher education, government or another large federated workplace · AZ-204, AZ-305 or AZ-500 certifications.

What we need from you

- Based in Perth, Western Australia. This engagement cannot be delivered from interstate, so interstate applications will not be considered.
- Full Australian working rights, without the need for visa sponsorship.
- Open to an initial 12-month max term contract

Salary

- The role is paying a salary of $150k plus super (on a 12-month max term contract basis)
