Talent Match Recruitment - East Brisbane QLD
Our client is a leading National Commercial Furniture Company in Australia. For more than three decades, they've designed, manufactured, and installed premium office furniture for some of the country's most recognised workplaces, using their own local manufacturing facility and showrooms across Australia.
Having built a strong presence in Sydney and Melbourne, they're now growing their Brisbane operation, and they're looking for someone ready to grow with it.
This isn't a role where you inherit someone else's systems; it's a chance to get in early, learn the business inside out, and build something you can put your name on.
They're a team that takes real pride in making things well and getting them onto site exactly as they should be.
The role
- As Project Manager, you'll take ownership of commercial furniture projects and see them through from the point an order is won to a completed, signed-off installation.
- It's a role built on accountability, and you're the person responsible for making sure each project is delivered to specification, on time, on budget, and to the standard the company is known for.
- You'll sit at the centre of the Brisbane operation, bringing together sales, production, suppliers, installers, logistics, and the client to turn an order into a finished result everyone's proud of.
- Because the Brisbane branch is growing, this is a broader role than a desk-bound PM position, you'll be out on site during installations and hands-on with local scheduling and stock, learning every part of how projects get delivered. It's the kind of grounding that sets up a serious career.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end delivery of commercial furniture projects, from sales handover through to installation and final sign-off.
- Act as the single point of accountability for each project; on spec, on time, and on budget.
- Schedule installations and deliveries, and be on site to see installations through to sign-off.
- Keep the local warehouse running smoothly: incoming stock, storage, and dispatch.
- Be the key point of contact for clients and their designers, builders, and project teams, managing expectations and resolving issues through to handover.
- Plan and manage project timelines, budgets, variations, and documentation, keeping internal teams and clients informed throughout.
- Uphold the quality and finish that the company's reputation is built on.
About you
- Project coordination or project delivery experience and the ambition to take on more. You might be a project coordinator, site coordinator, or scheduler ready to run projects yourself.
- The ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications (or a genuine willingness to learn - training provided).
- Strong organisation and planning skills, with genuine attention to detail.
- A hands-on approach - happy to be out on site, not just behind a desk.
- Excellent communication and a confident, helpful client-facing manner.
- The ability to juggle multiple jobs and competing deadlines without dropping the ball.
- Commercial awareness; you understand budgets, margins, and the cost of getting it wrong.
- Comfortable picking up recent systems, including project management / ERP software.
- A current driver's licence and willingness to travel to client and installation sites.
Nice to have
- Experience in or around commercial office fitouts, furniture, or construction.
- Exposure to installation scheduling, logistics, or warehousing.
- A good eye for furniture, finishes, and detailing.
Why join
- Real career runway. As the Brisbane branch grows, so does this role, and the company has a track record of backing and rewarding the people who grow with it.
- You'll learn the business end-to-end- projects, installations, logistics, clients the kind of all-round grounding most PMs never get.
- You'll be mentored and supported by an experienced national team, while having real ownership of your own projects rather than being a small cog in a big machine.
- This is an established business that knows what good looks like and is looking for someone who wants to help build the next chapter.
This role is ALL about the person you are.
