Austin Education is looking for capable and engaging English tutors and teachers to join our growing Year 1-10 English team.

We welcome applicants with strong English, writing and communication skills, sound subject knowledge and a genuine interest in helping students learn and improve. Previous teaching or tutoring experience is highly regarded, and we also consider each application based on overall ability, communication skills and teaching potential.

Established in 2013, Austin Education has grown to a team of more than 40 full-time employees and over 300 part-time and casual teaching and support professionals across multiple campuses.

Multiple casual opportunities are available, with longer-term and full-time career opportunities for high-performing teachers. Commencement dates can be discussed.

About the role

Depending on your strengths and experience, you may teach students across one or more year levels from Year 1 to Year 10.

In this role, you will:

Deliver engaging and well-structured English lessons

Support students in developing strong reading, writing and analytical skills

Help students improve their academic performance and prepare for school assessments and examinations

Provide clear and constructive feedback on student learning

Teach with established curriculum and teaching resources, supported by our academic team

Teaching is generally scheduled after school on weekdays and on weekends across our Melbourne campuses.

Have strong English, writing and communication skills

Demonstrate solid subject knowledge and teaching potential

Are reliable, organised and professional

Highly regarded:

Previous teaching or tutoring experience

Robust achievement in VCE English

Scholarship or selective-entry examination experience or achievement

Experience in writing, debating or public speaking

School leadership or academic competition experience
