Catering Assistant | Permanent Part-Time Position Available ( 27-30 hours per week)

Capecare is a not-for-profit organisation that has proudly provided Aged Care services in the Capes Region for over 60 years.

We are currently seeking experienced and capable Permanent Part-Time Catering Assistants to join our dedicated teams in Dunsborough.

About the Role:

Capecares Catering Assistants plays a vital role in supporting the kitchen and hospitality team to deliver high-quality food services ( breakfast, lunch, dinner and morning/afternoon tea) within our aged care residential facilitiy.

The Catering Assistant is responsible for assisting with the preparation, presentation, and serving of nutritious meals that meet the individual dietary needs and preferences of our residents.

Catering Assistants are responsible for setting up the dining area for approximately 20 residents, serving meals during meal times, cleaning up after service and ensuring the area is ready for the next service.

This role plays a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining environment, while ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

The ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to high standards of work while providing considerate, person-centred care to our residents.

Our shift times are: Monday to Sunday: 7 am-1:30 pm and 4 pm-7 pm.

Permanent shifts currently available are Monday to Saturday.

Key Responsibilities:

- Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, which may include chopping vegetables, assembling salads, portioning food, and preparing easy dishes under the supervision of the Cook or Chef.

- Serving Meals: Help in serving meals to residents during mealtimes, ensuring that each resident receives the appropriate meal according to their dietary requirements.

- Dining Room Setup: Set up the dining areas before mealtimes, ensuring tables are clean, and all necessary items like cutlery, plates, and glasses are in place.

- Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils,



and kitchen equipment, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area. They may also help with cleaning kitchen surfaces and storage areas.

- Resident Interaction: Interact with residents in a friendly and courteous manner during mealtimes, addressing their needs and requests as appropriate.

The Ideal Candidates Will Have:

- Experience in Hospitality, Aged Care, Customer Service or Hospital environment and/or related field ideal.

- Food Handling Certificate is desirable but not essential.

- Experience with specific dietary needs (desirable).

- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team within a fast-paced environment.

- A genuine passion for providing quality care to older Australians.

- Full working rights in Australia.
