Lead a high-profile NSW regulator with responsibility for welfare, integrity and public confidence

Senior Executive Band 2 with a TRP between $334,005 - $372,547

Ongoing role, based in Sydney or Bathurst The Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission is an independent NSW statutory regulator established under the Greyhound Racing Act 2017. The Commission promotes and protects greyhound welfare, safeguards the integrity of greyhound racing and betting, and works to maintain public confidence in the NSW greyhound racing industry.

The Chief Executive

Officer (CEO) provides strategic and operational leadership across the Commission and ensures it continues to operate as a trusted, fair, firm and impartial regulator. Working closely with and reporting directly to the Chief Commissioner, the CEO translates the Commission’s strategic direction into regulatory and organisational priorities, leads an executive team, and oversees effective governance, service delivery, financial management, workforce capability and regulatory outcomes. This is a significant agency head role requiring sound judgement, strong public sector leadership, regulatory credibility and the ability to lead in a complex and highly scrutinised operating setting.

The role is accountable for the day-to-day management and administration of the Commission, including leadership of the executive team and broader workforce, and the development and implementation of strategic, regulatory and organisational initiatives that promote greyhound welfare, strengthen industry integrity and enhance confidence in the Commission’s work. The CEO is also responsible for providing high-quality strategic advice to the Commissioners, Minister and other senior stakeholders on complex, sensitive and emerging matters affecting the Commission and the greyhound racing industry. The role requires a leader who can balance independence,



regulatory firmness and constructive engagement while guiding the organisation through reform, public scrutiny and evolving community expectations.

About you

You will be an accomplished senior executive with substantial experience leading in a complex regulatory, statutory or public sector environment. You will bring sound judgement, executive presence, resilience and the ability to make balanced decisions in an environment shaped by public scrutiny, competing stakeholder interests and high community expectations. You will have a comprehensive understanding of government, public administration, governance and accountability, together with a strong record of building constructive relationships with Ministers, Commissioners, industry, community stakeholders and senior public sector partners.

You will demonstrate: senior executive experience leading a regulatory agency, statutory authority or comparable complex organisation strong strategic, financial, governance and risk management capability proven ability to lead organisational reform and continuous improvement a strong commitment to public sector values, integrity, inclusion and service delivery.
