Overview BD is a global leader in medical technology. We are seeking practical, hands-on educators to join our clinical implementation team. This casual position is based in South Australia and supports BD Pyxis automated dispensing systems within hospital and healthcare settings. The role is ideal for a clinician or healthcare professional who enjoys education and supporting the safe adoption of medication management technology.

Role Summary The Clinical Education Consultant delivers end‑user training and on‑site support to nursing, pharmacy and clinical staff, focusing on high‑quality hands‑on training, go‑live support, and workflow‑based education to support safe and effective use of BD Pyxis systems. The position emphasizes clinician confidence through practical training, system feature demonstrations, and basic troubleshooting, ensuring Pyxis systems align with local policies and medication safety requirements.

Responsibilities - Deliver comprehensive super-user training on the operation of BD Pyxis systems (including Pyxis MedStation, Pyxis Anaesthesia and Pyxis CIISafe) using relevant educational resources.

- Tailor and deliver role-based education for nursing, pharmacy and anaesthetic staff to meet customer requirements.
- Educate users on correct system usage, daily workflows and troubleshooting techniques.
- Support Pyxis system implementations, upgrades and go-live events.
- Build positive relationships with nursing and/or pharmacy staff and act as a clinical subject matter expert for Pyxis systems.
- Promote safe medication practices consistent with NSQHS standards and local hospital policies related to Pyxis systems.
- Assist with developing training materials,



quick reference guides, and standard operating procedures.
- Support sales representatives and other team members by providing information about customer needs.
- Capture user feedback, training attendance and outcomes to support continuous improvement; share insights on training effectiveness and user experience.
- Perform other related tasks as directed by management. Knowledge & Qualifications - Thorough understanding of nursing medication administration processes across inpatient services.
- Strong knowledge of medication safety principles, high‑risk medications and controlled drug requirements.
- Understanding of relevant state/national policy and legislation governing medication administration.
- Knowledge or experience with BD MMS portfolio (BD Rowa, BD Pyxis ES, BD Alaris) is desirable but not mandatory.

Skills & Attributes - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication; solid people skills with a calm, supportive approach.

- Proven ability to educate, train, and coach adult learners; confident presenter in small groups and one‑on‑one settings.
- Methodical, patient, and approachable demeanor; agile mindset toward new technologies and approaches.




- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms; computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience in hospital settings and knowledge of automated dispensing cabinets are desirable.

Experience & Education - An undergraduate degree in healthcare (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy).

- 3+ years of clinical experience.

Working Conditions Typically spend 1–3 days onsite at hospital locations to train staff on Pyxis systems. Across a month, travel to 1–2 sites with 3–5 days of work per month; sites may be across South Australia and potentially other states. The casual contract includes reimbursement for hours onsite and reasonable travel time and costs.

Location & Schedule Adelaide, South Australia region; approximately 24–30 hours per month, with hours based on customer implementation and training requirements. Why Join BD BD is a leading global medical technology company.
