Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse in Ward 4BK, you will provide expert nursing care to patients with complex kidney conditions while working autonomously within a multidisciplinary team. You'll play a key role in clinical leadership, care coordination and supporting best practice across the service. You will,

- Provide person-centred kidney nursing care to patients with complex needs, including dialysis, acute and chronic kidney failure, transplantation and palliative care.
- Provide clinical leadership through assessment, care planning, critical thinking, delegation and coordination of care, while supporting the wider healthcare team.
- Contribute to education, research, clinical audits, quality improvement and practice development to promote safe, evidence-based kidney care.

About you:

You're an experienced Registered Nurse with robust specialist kidney nursing knowledge and the confidence to provide clinical leadership in a complex acute care environment. You bring sound judgement, excellent communication skills and a commitment to achieving positive outcomes for patients and the service. You have;

- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in kidney nursing, including the assessment and management of complex patient care.
- Strong clinical leadership, critical thinking, problem-solving and care coordination skills.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to mentor, educate and support the development of colleagues and students.

Princess Alexandra Hospital:

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a secure clinical setting.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
