About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our nursing team at Eaglecare Highfields Manor in Port Macquarie, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care to our aged care residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will be at the heart of our care operations, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to ensure residents receive safe, effective and compassionate nursing care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older Australians whilst contributing to the strategic objectives of our organisation.

What you'll be doing

- Assessing and monitoring the health status of residents, including vital signs, medications and general wellbeing
- Providing direct nursing care including wound management, catheter care and continence management
- Administering medications and ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with pharmaceutical standards
- Developing and implementing individualised care plans in collaboration with residents, families and the care team
- Responding promptly to resident requests and concerns, providing emotional support and reassurance
- Communicating effectively with general practitioners, specialists and external healthcare providers regarding resident care
- Maintaining comprehensive and accurate resident health records and documentation in compliance with aged care standards
- Identifying changes in resident condition and escalating concerns appropriately




- Providing education and support to residents and families regarding health management and care planning
- Collaborating with other team members to promote a safe, respectful and inclusive care environment
- Contributing to continuous quality improvement and infection prevention practices

What we're looking for

- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- A recognised nursing qualification (Bachelor of Nursing)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Experience working in aged care, residential care or similar healthcare settings
- Strong knowledge of aged care standards, regulations and best practice guidelines
- Excellent clinical nursing skills with the ability to provide safe, quality care
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build trusting relationships with residents and families
- Proficiency in electronic health records systems and computer literacy
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach to care delivery
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Preferred experience with residents experiencing dementia, chronic illness or end-of-life care
