Company Description: Finoya.ai is an AI CFO built for small businesses and accountants. We connect with accounting platforms to help businesses understand their cash flow, forecast what is coming, plan different financial scenarios and ask questions about their financial data using AI. We are now expanding Finoya into tax.

Our goal is to allow small business owners and accountants to ask practical tax questions, understand potential tax obligations and eventually run tax calculations using their own accounting data. What you will help build

You will work directly with the other 2 founders to create the tax capabilities inside Finoya.

Your role will include

- Define the Australian tax rules Finoya needs to understand
- Help design tax calculations for small businesses
- Validate AI generated tax answers and calculations
- Identify the tax questions small business owners ask accountants every day
- Help us build workflows around GST, BAS, company tax, payroll related tax and other common SME tax requirements
- Review how financial data from platforms such as Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks should be interpreted for tax purposes
- Help create safeguards around what Finoya can answer automatically and when a user should speak with an accountant
- Test new tax features before they are released
- Help shape the longer term tax product roadmap Who we are looking for

You should have strong practical experience working with Australian small businesses and tax.

Ideally you are

- A tax accountant,



registered tax agent, CA or CPA
- Currently running your own accounting or tax practice, or have previously done so
- Working directly with SME clients
- Comfortable with GST, BAS, company structures, tax calculations and common SME tax questions
- Interested in AI and how accounting will change over the next few years
- Comfortable working with a startup where products are built, tested and improved quickly We strongly prefer someone who owns their own accounting or tax firm because you already see the questions, problems and workflows we want Finoya to solve. You do not need to be a developer.

Our engineering team will build the technology. We need you to bring the tax expertise. Time commitment

We are looking for a minimum commitment of approximately 5 hours per week.

This is designed for someone who wants to remain active in accounting while helping build the technology that may shape how small businesses access financial and tax advice. What you get
