Focusing on the payroll financial compliance aspects of the GWW payroll and management of the payroll regulatory payments. The role will take accountability for the calculation, reconciliation and payment of Portable LSL, Workers Compensation payment administration (payroll span of control), Single Touch Payroll submission, and our complex pay day superannuation reconciliation and monthly payments.
From a compliance perspective this role supports the wider payroll team to ensure that employee payments are processed correctly and in line with SOPs and checklists. Performing regular checks of employee data to ensure systemic issues are identified and managed appropriately.
The role reports to Team Leader Payroll Operations and has regular engagement with the Manager, People Operations and the wider PCS team and our employees.
Our payroll team is predominantly based at Sunbury. While this role can work from Footscray, there will be a requirement for a weekly onsite day at Sunbury.
Responsibilities Management and submission of STP reconciliation
EOFY STP submission and reconciliation
Pay Day Superannuation including reconciling and payments for terminated employees within 1 week of employee payment
Workers Comp payroll calculations and reconciliations with the Workcover authority Portable LSL transfers from other public sector authorities
Payroll financial month end process including labour costing reports
Quality audit checking of payroll end-to-end processes that affect employee payments
Process improvement work and maintenance of SOPs and checklists
Direct engagement with wider PCS team and our employees on pay issues and processes Skills & Experience Established payroll experience – minimum 5 years Inquisitive and curious about payroll compliance and accuracy
Experienced in reconciliations and accurate checking
Ability to learn new payroll systems
Strong analytical skills in excel and payroll reconciliation See yourself thrive
