Successful applicant must have certificate 3 in commercial cookery and at least one year work experience in commercial kitchen in contemporary Australian style restaurant. May work on weekends.

Manage the day to day flow of the kitchen

· Check food stock and order to top up and record properly

· Examining food to ensure quality

· Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment

· Preparing and cooking food

· Seasoning food during cooking

· Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes

· Storing food in temperature controlled facilities

· Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements

· Plan and up date menus and daily specials and estimate food requirements

· May need to explain the ingredients of the dishes

· Train kitchen staff and apprentices
