Job Description
The Partnerships Account Manager plays a central role in delivering Melbourne's signature events by managing a portfolio of sponsorships through the Event Partnership Program. You'll guide applications from assessment through to negotiation and activation, ensuring each partnership delivers strong value for both event organisers and the City of Melbourne. Working closely with internal teams and external partners, you'll help bring major events to life while supporting the city’s broader visitation and economic goals.
This is a part time opportunity, requiring three days per week, until 29 January 2027 with the potential for extension.
A little more about the role
- Manage sponsorship negotiations, benefits, ticketing allocations and partner communications
- Track and report on program activity, ROI, budgets and partnership performance
- Build strong working relationships with event organisers and teams across CoM to ensure partnership benefits are effectively activated

About the Candidate
You are a relationship-builder who thrives in collaborative environments. You're confident engaging with partners, stakeholders and internal teams, and you're skilled at navigating competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
You may also be:
- Experienced in negotiating agreements or managing sponsorship/partnership rights
- Someone who enjoys analysing value, measuring outcomes and identifying opportunities
What your experience might look like
- Background in sponsorship, events, marketing, partnerships or a related discipline
- Experience applying evaluation frameworks to assess proposals or programs
- Strong contract management capability, including risk and compliance awareness
- Ability to juggle multiple deadlines across complex projects with accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and negotiation capability
