Mizuho Securities’ Debt Capital Markets (DCM) team based in Sydney is responsible for the origination, marketing and execution of DCM transactions across a multitude of currencies for Corporate and FIG issuers in Australia and New Zealand.
The DCM team is responsible for identifying cross-selling debt Global Bond Market funding opportunities for its client base and advising them on the optimal approach to the markets, whilst promoting Mizuho’s Global DCM capabilities.
We are seeking an experienced Analyst or Associate (commensurate with experience), based in Sydney, Australia, who can:
Support the Debt Capital Markets Australasia team in deal origination, client coverage and execution, including preparing analysis and pitch materials for client meetings.
Assist the team with day-to-day responsibilities through targeting clients' background information, conducting relative value analysis and financial models,
collecting and analyzing market data to produce market analyses and ad hoc analysis for issuers.
Assist Regional and Global DCM and Debt Syndicate teams during the execution of live transactions — including tracking investor demand, preparing pricing updates and marketing materials.
Facilitate deal workflows and internal approval processes, including roadshow logistics, review of presentation materials and legal documentation, and deal promotion.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with all relevant internal stakeholders (e.g.
Coverage
Bankers, Syndicate, Legal, Compliance and Risk).
Support the team in business development initiatives by cultivating new clients and providing market updates to Coverage Bankers.
Keep abreast of global markets developments to identify trends and develop insights, as well as new regulations impacting Debt Capital Markets’ dynamics.
Assist the team in maintaining a strong level of compliance, due diligence and adherence to relevant internal controls and procedures.
Role Prerequisites
1– 4 years’ relevant experience gained in Debt Capital Markets, leveraged finance, syndicate, corporate finance / credit, or a banking front-office or related role. Candidates from accountancy, law or strategic consultancy with strong capital markets exposure will also be considered.
Sound understanding of the debt transaction cycle and international capital markets.
Positive attitude with strong entrepreneurial and team spirit,
willing to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and flexible to work beyond normal hours.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with Bloomberg and market data tools.
Robust financial modelling, analytical, business-writing and communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Graduated with an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree or equivalent from university, in a relevant discipline.
Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of the relevant, valid Australian working rights / visa at the time of applying.
