We deliver recovery-focused services for consumers experiencing serious mental illness or problematic behaviours who are connected to, or at risk of contact with, the justice system, across community, inpatient and secure settings throughout Victoria.

About the Opportunity

Two exciting opportunity exists for Senior Psychologists Grade 3 to join the Problem Behaviour Program (PBP) within Forensicare's Community Forensic Mental Health Service.

As a senior clinician, you will provide advanced clinical and forensic psychological expertise to consumers engaging in, or at risk of engaging in, serious problem behaviours requiring specialist intervention. This includes presentations involving persistent violence, stalking, fire-setting, sexually harmful behaviour and serious threats of harm.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake specialist assessments, develop evidence-based formulations and treatment plans, provide individual and group interventions, and deliver consultation to clinicians, agencies and key stakeholders. The role also offers opportunities to contribute to supervision, training, research and service development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct specialist forensic and clinical psychological assessments.
- Prepare reports for courts and external agencies where required.
- Develop evidence-based risk formulations and treatment plans.
- Deliver individual and group-based therapeutic interventions.
- Provide expert consultation and secondary consultation to clinicians and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to program development and discipline-specific leadership.
- Provide supervision to psychology colleagues and support the development of emerging practitioners.




- Participate in multidisciplinary case review processes and risk management planning.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

- General registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
- An Area of Practice Endorsement (AoPE) in Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology and/or Forensic Psychology.
- A Master's or Doctorate qualification in a relevant APAC-accredited psychology program.
- At least five years' experience practising as a psychologist.
- Registered supervisor status and experience supervising psychologists, students or staff.
- Demonstrated experience within forensic, correctional or mental health environments.
- Advanced expertise in forensic assessment, risk assessment, formulation and intervention.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and providing evidence to courts.
