About the organisation

The Building and Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's regulator for the building and plumbing industries. The Commission brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the Domestic Building Insurance (DBI) function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA).

For the first time, regulation, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance are handled by one agency. This will deliver a clearer view of the entire building process, in order to protect consumers, support industry, and make the system easier to navigate.



The merger presents a unique opportunity to make a fundamental difference in the streamlining of functions and the maturing of its operating model, alongside modernisation of systems, data, and technology that support its regulatory responsibilities.

As the BPC continues to establish itself as a trusted regulator, Corporate Services plays a critical role in delivering the governance, financial stewardship and operational excellence that enable its success.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Corporate Services Officer and Chief Finance Officer (CCSO & CFO), the Deputy Chief Finance Officer (DCFO) provides support to the CCSO & CFO and acts on their behalf as required. The role provides strategic leadership, with direct accountability over three distinct portfolios comprising of Actuarial Services, Financial Planning and Performance and Financial Operations, each led by a dedicated Head of Function. The role also oversees treasury and investment reporting.
