The Primary Schools Music Festival (PSMF) exists because people believe in the transformative power of music. Through the generosity of donors, sponsors, grant-makers and our community, we create opportunities for our students to thrive, audiences to connect and extraordinary musical experiences to be shared.

We are seeking an exceptional Development & Marketing Manager to lead our fundraising and donor engagement efforts and help secure the future growth and sustainability of our organisation.

The Opportunity

As the Development & Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of the PSMF. You will develop and deliver fundraising strategies that grow philanthropic income, deepen supporter engagement and expand partnerships with individuals, foundations, trusts and corporate sponsors.

You will be the face of donor engagement, cultivating relationships with passionate supporters and helping them see the impact their generosity can make. Working closely with leadership, artists, board members and stakeholders, you will identify new opportunities for growth and create compelling campaigns that inspire people to invest in our vision.

Key Responsibilities

Drive Fundraising Growth





- Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies to grow philanthropic income.

- Build and nurture relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations and community partners.

- Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major gift prospects and supporters.

- Research and secure grant funding opportunities.

- Lead fundraising campaigns, annual appeals and sponsorship initiatives.

- Achieve ambitious revenue targets across multiple fundraising streams.

Build Meaningful Connections

- Deliver exceptional stewardship and engagement experiences for donors and supporters.

- Create compelling donor communications, impact stories and engagement opportunities.

- Ensure all supporters feel valued, connected and inspired by their involvement with the PSMF.

Promote Our Mission

- Develop high-quality fundraising and sponsorship materials.

- Produce engaging communications including newsletters, invitations, appeals and campaign content.

- Strengthen awareness of the PSMF and the impact of our work through strategic marketing and communications.

Inform Strategy Through Insight

- Identify emerging philanthropic opportunities and funding trends.

- Manage and maintain donor data with the highest standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

- Monitor and report on fundraising performance, outcomes and key metrics.





- Evaluate initiatives and develop recent approaches that enhance donor participation and revenue growth.

- Demonstrated success in fundraising, philanthropy, partnerships or business development.

- Outstanding relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills.

- Experience securing grants, sponsorships, donations or major gifts.

- Excellent writing and communication skills.

- Strategic thinking combined with a hands-on approach.

- Strong project management and organisational capabilities.

- A genuine commitment to delivering exceptional supporter experiences.
