Role Description The DevOps Engineer role at Star Spaces Lab is a part-time, remote position focused on building and maintaining reliable, scalable infrastructure to support the organization’s diverse technology initiatives. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, managing cloud and on-premise environments, and maintaining Infrastructure as Code for consistent, repeatable deployments. The role involves monitoring system performance, improving automation, enhancing security and reliability, and collaborating with software developers to streamline build, test, and release processes.
The DevOps Engineer will also troubleshoot production issues, optimize Linux-based systems, and contribute to best practices for configuration management, documentation, and operational resilience.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess solid System Administration and Linux skills for managing and securing servers and services.
Candidates should possess Infrastructure as Code (IaC) skills for automating provisioning, configuration,
and deployment of infrastructure.
Candidates should possess Continuous Integration skills for building, maintaining, and improving CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows.
Candidates should possess Software Development skills to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and create automation scripts and tooling.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization/orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools, along with basic security and compliance practices, is preferred.
Strong problem-solving abilities, clear communication, and the capacity to work independently in a remote, cross-functional environment are essential.
A background in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience in DevOps or SRE roles, is an advantage.
