Hourly rates are weekday $59; Saturday $83; Sunday $106; and Public holiday $130. We are seeking Disability Support Workers to provide in home care for a spinal injuries client in the Brisbane CBD. We are seeking someone who is available to work 3 morning shifts per fortnight and 2 night shifts per fortnight, and potentially some inactive sleepovers.

Tasks to be performed include:

- Assistance with eating; positioning; tooth brushing; continence aids; wound care; and medication.
- Cooking and meal preparation; full assistance with showers; bowel therapy including manual evacuations and administering enemas; hoist transfers; and the provision of stretches and passive range of motion exercises.
- Household cleaning.

Experience is valued but not essential as we can provide all training required. However you will need to be proactive and take the initiative in ensuring you quickly learn how to do the job. High hourly rate is to attract high quality support workers.



To assist the client to achieve their goals the support worker must be willing to work quickly; must be flexible; must be able to think critically and problem solve; and must show initiative in maintaining the client's life and residence. We are a small team of carers and the ability to fill additional shifts, even on short notice, is critical.

Punctuality and reliability is essential. The position is casual but only people planning to stay in the position for at least 2 years will be considered. You must have the right to work in Australia.

Flexibility is important. We need someone who is willing to work both morning and night shifts and must be able to reliably travel to the client's residence for those shifts. We work together to keep the roster filled when someone wants time off but we need people who are willing to work on public holidays such as current years eve, new years day, and xmas day as required to complete the roster.

You must be a very organised person. We need flexibility and notice when you are going on holiday and can't work so that everyone is aware that additional shifts need to be worked.

Include in your resume any relevant experience and/or qualifications earned in Australia or overseas. Where you have experience working as an EN, AIN, or disability support worker provide as much detail as possible of the specific tasks you performed and assistance you provided to patients and clients that may be relevant to the position.
