Document Controller – Oil & Gas

The Opportunity

Western Work Force is seeking an experienced Document Controller for a part-time opportunity with our client, a well-established engineering services business supporting projects across the oil and gas sector.

This role would suit a capable and detail-focused Document Controller who is looking for meaningful part-time work, with the position offered at 3 days per week and flexibility provided around working arrangements.

About the Role

Working closely with the client’s engineering, project and administrative teams, you will be responsible for managing project documentation, maintaining document registers and ensuring information is controlled, accurate and accessible.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage incoming and outgoing project documentation, drawings, correspondence and transmittals.
- Maintain document control registers, revision histories and project records.
- Ensure documents are reviewed, approved, issued and archived in line with project and client requirements.
- Support engineering and project teams with document formatting, numbering, filing and distribution.
- Monitor document workflows, review cycles and overdue actions.
- Maintain accuracy, traceability and confidentiality of controlled documentation.
- Assist with document close-out, handover packages and general project administration as required.

About You

You will be organised, proactive and comfortable working in a project-based environment where accuracy and communication are critical.





- Previous experience in a Document Controller role, ideally within oil and gas, engineering, construction or resources.
- Strong understanding of document control processes, revision control, transmittals and controlled document registers.
- Experience using electronic document management systems is highly regarded.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High attention to detail and a methodical approach to document quality.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with engineers, project teams, contractors and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities across a 3-day working week.
