Are you looking for a paediatric OT role where you can build your skills, grow your confidence and develop your clinical expertise with the support of an experienced team?
At Sydney Kids Hand Therapy and OT Centre, we’re looking for an enthusiastic early career Occupational Therapist to join our friendly and experienced team.
We want to know more than what is on your CV. We are interested in what you enjoy, what you want to learn and where you would like your OT career to take you. We will work with you to develop your clinical skills and build a caseload that suits your experience and interests.
This role can be part-time or full-time, with flexibility around days and hours.
Why Join Our Team?
You’ll be joining a small, supportive team where clinicians regularly share ideas, discuss cases and learn from each other.
You’ll have access to
- Regular individual supervision and mentoring
- Clinical meetings and case discussions
- A structured induction
- Support to develop confidence with assessment, clinical reasoning and intervention
- Dedicated preparation and administration time
- In-house learning and an external CPD budget
- Opportunities to learn from experienced paediatric occupational therapists and hand therapists
- A varied caseload
- Administrative support with appointment bookings and billing
- Flexibility for part-time or full-time work
- A workplace that values collaboration, professional development and sustainable workloads
The Role You’ll work with children and their families across a broad range of developmental and physical needs.
Depending on your experience and interests, your caseload may include children requiring support with:
- Fine motor and hand skills
- Handwriting and school participation
- Self-care and independence
- Developmental delay
- Neurodiversity
- Upper limb and physical disabilities
- Strength, coordination and functional skills
Most therapy is provided in our clinic,
with some opportunities for local school or community visits where clinically appropriate. Our practice also has a strong paediatric hand and upper limb therapy focus. If this is an area that interests you, there are opportunities to learn and develop skills alongside experienced clinicians
Who Would Thrive Here?
The position would suit an OT who is curious, motivated and enjoys learning.
You might be a new graduate or an OT in the first few years of your career who would like:
- Strong clinical support
- Exposure to a diverse paediatric caseload
- Opportunities to develop an area of clinical interest
- A supportive team
- Flexibility while still feeling part of a team
You’ll need a degree in Occupational Therapy and current or eligible AHPRA registration. Where Do You Want Your Career to Go?
We know early career OTs don’t necessarily have everything mapped out.
You might want to become an excellent general paediatric OT. You might discover an interest in neurodiversity, handwriting, physical disability or paediatric hand therapy. Over time, you might want to supervise others or develop more specialised clinical skills.
We want to hear about your goals and help you build towards them.
