In this role, you will prepare and serve meals, including special dietary requirements, for patients and staff, maintaining food safety, hygiene, stock control, and kitchen cleanliness while following workplace safety standards. The role works within a mental health setting and supports quality care through effective teamwork and adherence to procedures.

The Team:

Millbrook Rise Centre is a 27-bed mental health subacute inpatient facility; we are a consumer-centred service with a focus on rehabilitation and recovery located in the beautiful Derwent Valley.We are a collaborative team that works with our consumers, their friends and families in their individualised recovery journey.

- This role provides a high standard of food services to patients and staff of the Millbrook Rise Centre.
- Ensure a high standard of food preparation and presentation for patient and staff meals along with special dietary requirements for both food and refreshments where required.
- Distribute meals to individual units in accordance with relevant policies.
- Check patient identification is correct prior to delivering/distributing meals and observe all dietary restrictions allocated to patients.

You will need:

- Demonstrated knowledge and experience and/or relevant qualifications in food preparation and production, cook‑chill procedures and working within an inpatient setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of general food handling and food hygiene regulations, and proven ability to maintain all work areas and equipment in a hygienic state, including maintaining a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance in accordance with food services policies.
- Good communication skills with a proven ability to understand both written and verbal instructions and cooperate effectively with patients,



visitors, and staff, and the ability to work within a team environment.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, casual, position working as and when required, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2027.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Position Features:

- The role is located at Millbrook Rise Centre. The occupant will work in an environment that requires all staff to be alert to any matters concerning the security and safety of patients and staff

$65,827 to $68,854 per annum (Pro rata) . Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
