Role Description The Employment Mentor is a part-time, in office role based in Adelaide, SA. In this role, the mentor supports clients to prepare for, find, and sustain meaningful employment or training opportunities, aligned with their skills, interests, and NDIS goals. Day-to-day tasks include conducting one-on-one mentoring sessions, assisting with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and job search planning.

The mentor collaborates with local employers, training providers, and community organizations to identify suitable opportunities and advocate for inclusive workplaces.



The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, contributing to individual support plans, and working closely with the broader support team to ensure coordinated, high-quality services.

Qualifications

Experience in employment support, career coaching, or mentoring, ideally within disability or community services.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse clients.

Organizational and time-management skills to manage caseloads, appointments, and follow-up activities effectively.

Understanding of the NDIS framework and person-centered practice, or willingness to learn.

Knowledge of local labor market, education, and training pathways within Adelaide and South Australia.

Ability to work collaboratively with families, carers, employers, and multidisciplinary support teams.

Basic digital literacy, including use of email, online job platforms, and documentation systems.

Relevant qualification in community services, social work, employment services, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Current driver’s license and ability to travel locally as required.

Compliance with all safeguarding, screening, and workplace health and safety requirements.
