Position

Summary The Analyst is an entry-level position within COSOL's advisory team, designed for a motivated graduate or early-career professional looking to build a career in asset management consulting.

You will work alongside experienced consultants on client engagements spanning asset strategy, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, and operational process improvement. You will contribute to real deliverables from day one while developing your technical knowledge, industry understanding, and consulting craft. This is a role for someone who is eager to learn, comfortable working with data, and genuinely interested in how large asset-intensive organisations manage and optimise their physical assets.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery Support

Contribute to engagements across COSOL's core advisory capability areas, including:

Asset Investment & Strategy - support whole-of-life asset strategy development, fleet analysis, asset replacement studies, project feasibility assessments, and capital portfolio optimisation work

Maintenance Strategy - assist in developing and documenting maintenance strategies, tactics, shutdown plans, and labour optimisation analyses aligned to client risk and budget priorities

Asset Management Maturity Uplift - support AM diagnostic activities, gap assessments, improvement planning, and the development of AM standards, frameworks, and governance documents

Working Capital Improvement - assist in inventory optimisation studies, critical spares assessments,



and commercial contract reviews to help clients reduce capital tied up in inventory without compromising reliability

Process Optimisation - support work management reviews, reliability engineering activities, shutdown effectiveness analysis, and procure-to-pay process improvement engagements

Analysis & Research

Collect, structure, and analyse asset, maintenance, and operational data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement opportunities

Research industry standards, client operational contexts, and asset management best practices to support engagement outputs

Assist in developing KPIs, dashboards, and performance reporting for client programs

Support the preparation of business cases and recommendations under the guidance of senior team members

Tools & Technology

Work with CMMS platforms (e.g. SAP PM, Maximo), databases, and internal tools to support analysis and delivery activities

Assist in applying COSOL's OnPlan Digital Work Management platform and other technology solutions within client engagements

Contribute to the development of internal templates, methodologies, and knowledge assets

Assist in exploring AI-assisted workflows and data visualisation tools to enhance engagement quality

Team & Stakeholder Support

Participate in client workshops, site visits, and stakeholder interviews, supporting senior consultants in facilitation and documentation

Build working relationships with client contacts at an operational and technical level

Prepare clear, professional written outputs including reports, presentations, and deliverable documents

Represent COSOL professionally in all client-facing interactions Your Development

Required

Tertiary qualification in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics), Business, Data Science, or a closely related discipline - must be completed prior to commencement

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work methodically through complex data and operational challenges

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills

Willingness to travel and work on client sites

Desirable

Exposure to or genuine interest in asset-intensive industries such as mining, rail, utilities, or resources

Familiarity with CMMS platforms, database tools, or business intelligence and data visualisation software

Any prior experience or coursework related to asset management, maintenance planning, reliability engineering, or operations

Internship or work experience in a technical, analytical, or consulting environment

Awareness of asset management frameworks such as ISO 55000 Personal Attributes

Full-time permanent role

Combination of office-based, remote, and client site work

Travel to client sites is expected and may include mine operations, rail infrastructure, and processing facilities

Some engagements may involve FIFO or extended site visits No agency applications
