Our client is a well-established organisation seeking to appoint an Enterprise Strategic Planning Lead into a newly created position. This is an exciting opportunity to help build out the organisation's strategic planning and reporting capability from the ground up, working closely with senior leadership to shape long-term direction and drive enterprise-wide performance insights.
About the role
The Enterprise Strategic Planning Lead is a key role responsible for shaping the organisation's long term direction through enterprise planning, strategic reporting and performance insights. Reporting to the Manager Financial Planning and Analysis, you will lead the ongoing development and improvement of the organisation's strategic planning and reporting frameworks, including its long-term strategic vision, Statement of Corporate Intent and Corporate Plan. You will partner closely with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into clear initiatives, measures and delivery plans, and help embed a consistent organisation-wide planning and business cycle aligned to broader governance and reporting processes.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, review and continuous improvement of the organisation's strategic planning and reporting framework
- Provide expertise on corporate and business planning, including goal setting, KPI definition and performance monitoring in line with strategic initiatives
- Review and update the 30 year Strategic Plan and co-ordinate the annual preparation of the Statement of Corporate Intent (SCI) and 5 year Corporate Plan
- Co-ordinate quarterly SCI performance reporting to the Board and Shareholders
- Analyse market trends, industry dynamics and the competitive landscape to identify risks, opportunities and growth areas
- Partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders to shape strategic objectives and priorities
- Translate strategic goals into actionable initiatives, projects and delivery plans across the organisation
- Support the development of business cases and develop and manage the strategic project portfolio, ensuring clear accountability, timelines and resourcing
- Build robust internal and external stakeholder relationships and act as a trusted strategic advisor by clearly communicating and presenting planning and insights across the organisation
You will bring
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or related discipline
- Proven experience in strategic planning or business strategy within a complex infrastructure-based organisation
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse complex business challenges and develop practical, strategic solutions
- Highly developed analytical and critical thinking skills, with a strong data-driven mindset
- Demonstrated project management capability, managing multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences
- Strong leadership capability and experience working across cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in strategic planning frameworks, methodologies and tools
- Experience analysing industry trends, market dynamics and competitive environments
- Advanced data analysis and visualisation capability
- Ability to meet mandatory requirements including a National Police Check and pre-employment medical
