Role Description This full-time remote role is for an Entry Level Software Developer / Junior Developer / Software Developer supporting digital initiatives at PNUD – Panamá. The developer will assist in designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining software solutions and web-based applications that enhance internal workflows and program delivery. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean and well-documented code, fixing bugs, performing code reviews under supervision, and contributing to technical documentation.

The role involves collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to understand requirements, participating in agile meetings, and supporting integrations with existing systems and databases. The developer will also help improve system performance, ensure adherence to security and data protection standards, and learn recent tools and frameworks as needed.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Computer Science (data structures, algorithms, software engineering principles).





Skills in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one contemporary programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).

Knowledge of Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and server-side frameworks.

Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and their practical application in projects.

Ability to read and write clear technical documentation and collaborate effectively in a distributed team.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and basic software testing practices.

Interest in sustainable development, public sector innovation, or international development is an advantage.

Proficiency in English; Spanish language skills are highly beneficial.
