Kids Early Learning Centres – Eight Mile Plains QLD

Grow with us. Help shape what comes next.

Not all HR roles are created equal.

Some are about policies, processes and paperwork. This one is about people, leadership, culture and building something for the future.

At H&S; Group, we are looking for an experienced Human Resources Manager with preferred Early Childhood Education experience to lead our People, Culture & Wellbeing function across our growing network of 17 early learning centres.

We are a proud family-owned organisation with ambitious plans for the future, and we believe that when our people thrive, our centres and the children and families within them thrive too.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer, you will join our Leadership Team and lead the People, Culture & Wellbeing team of two.

You will initially join us as our Human Resources Manager, with the opportunity for the role to evolve into Head of People, Culture & Wellbeing as our organisation and PCW function continue to grow.

For the right person, this is an opportunity to do more than step into an established HR role. You will help shape what our People, Culture & Wellbeing function becomes next.

About the Role

This is a senior, hands-on leadership position for someone who enjoys being close to operations.

You will partner with our Leadership Team, Portfolio Managers and Centre Managers to strengthen leadership capability, navigate complex people matters and ensure our people practices support both our culture and our operational requirements.

One day you might be coaching a leader through a challenging employee matter; the next, reviewing workforce trends, strengthening a process or working with the COO on the next stage of our people strategy.

You will lead and support:

- Employee relations, performance management, grievances and workplace investigations
- Recruitment, onboarding, retention and workforce planning
- Coaching and capability development for Centre Managers and operational leaders
- HR compliance, governance, policies and procedures

- Interpretation and application of relevant Awards, legislation and employment obligations
- Workforce planning and succession planning
- Visa sponsorships and workforce compliance
- HR systems, reporting and workforce analytics
- Child Safe Standards, Reportable Conduct requirements and emerging child safety reforms
- Mandatory training and employee compliance requirements
- Leadership development and capability building
- Continuous improvement across our People, Culture & Wellbeing function
- Engagement, culture and wellbeing initiatives across our centres and Support Office

This isn't a role where HR operates separately from the business. You'll be visible, accessible and actively involved with our teams.

Early Learning Experience Matters to Us

We are specifically looking for someone who understands Early Childhood Education and Care.

Our sector is fast-paced, highly regulated and wonderfully people-focused. We want someone who understands the realities our Centre Managers and educators navigate every day.

You may currently be an HR Manager, People & Culture Manager, Senior HR Business Partner or People & Culture Business Partner within an early learning organisation and be ready for your next step.

You understand that great HR in early learning requires a balance of people and performance, compassion and accountability, culture and compliance.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Demonstrated HR or People & Culture experience within Early Childhood Education and Care
- Experience in a senior HR, People & Culture or HR Business Partner position
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and contemporary HR practices

- Working knowledge of relevant modern Awards, ideally including the Children's Services Award and Educational Services (Teachers) Award
- Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience
- Confidence coaching leaders through complex and sometimes sensitive people matters
- Experience supporting recruitment and workforce planning within a multi-site environment
- An understanding of safeguarding, Reportable Conduct requirements and child safety reforms
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A practical, organised and solutions-focused approach
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery
- Current WWCC, or ability to obtain one prior to commencement
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel between our centres when required

Most importantly, you'll genuinely enjoy working with people and building relationships.

Why H&S; Group?

Because this isn't simply another HR position.

It's an opportunity to help build the next chapter of our organisation.

You will have:

- A genuine opportunity to progress from Human Resources Manager to Head of People, Culture & Wellbeing as the organisation grows
- The opportunity to lead and develop an evolving People, Culture & Wellbeing team
- Direct partnership with the COO and exposure across our Leadership Team
- The ability to influence how our people strategy, systems and culture evolve
- A diverse role where no two days will look quite the same
- A supportive, family-owned organisation with ambitious growth plans
- Professional development and leadership growth opportunities
- The opportunity to make a meaningful impact across 17 early learning communities

We are growing, and we want our next People & Culture leader to grow with us.

If you know early learning, love people, aren't afraid of the complex stuff and want the chance to genuinely influence what comes next, we'd love to hear from you.
