We are seeking an experienced EPC Delivery Director to our support Energy Business Unit.
Role Overview The Delivery Director will spearhead the execution of the renewable (Solar, BESS and Hybrid) project portfolio across Australia. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for the full delivery lifecycle, ensuring that projects are executed safely, on time and to budget. The candidate will transition our delivery function from individual project management to a sophisticated, data-driven PMO office. The role will be the architect of our execution framework, ensuring we scale efficiently while navigating the complexities of the unique Australian market. Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Governance: Oversee the execution of all active Solar and BESS projects, ensuring alignment with BU strategy and financial targets. Report back to Head of ES-AU on progress incl rev and margin position on a monthly basis for the portfolio.
Framework Implementation:
Design and roll out a standardized Project Management Framework to suit local practice.
Systems & Reporting: Implement and manage a robust Earned Value Management (EVM) system. The role will be responsible for deploying a digital dashboard reporting suite to provide real-time visibility into cost, schedule and performance across the portfolio.
Industrial Relations: Lead the strategy for site-based labor management, ensuring all projects adhere to Australian local practices and proactive management of Union (CFMEU/ETU) relationships.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide Project Managers and Construction managers. Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the senior point of escalation to deal with clients, local authorities, AEMO/NSPs (grid connection) and government bodies in resolving issues and disputes.
Market engagement: Maintain a healthy relationship with construction partners and identify efficient way to deliver projects.
Bid support: Provide constructability review of the tender design with lesson learnt from delivered project in Australia.
Required Skills & Experience
Industry Expertise: Minimum 15+ years in large-scale infrastructure, with at least 5 years specifically in Utility-Scale Solar or BESS within the Australian market.
Project Controls Mastery: Proven track record in implementing EVM methodologies and digital reporting tools. The candidate should be comfortable moving between high-level strategy and deep-dive data analysis.
Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of Australian local renewable construction practice, WHS laws, AS4000/AS4902 contracts and the Australian industrial relations landscape.
Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and a history of mentoring project staff.
Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or Construction Management. PMP, CPPM or equivalent PM certification is highly regarded. Samsung C&T; Corporation is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
