Nurture Law

Queensland

Brisbane | Forest Lake | Flexible working | Genuine career progression Nurture Law is growing, and we're looking for an Estate Planning Lawyer / Associate to join our specialist wills and estates team. This is a role for someone who wants more than their next job. You'll do interesting work, have real autonomy, learn from recognised specialists and have a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career in estate planning as Nurture Law grows.

Why Nurture

Law? We're a boutique Brisbane firm specialising in wills and estates. We're modern, technology-enabled and genuinely adaptable. We set high standards for the work we do and the experience we give our clients, while creating a workplace built on trust, collaboration and flexibility.

Our values are: Be kind. Be clear. Be flexible. Be innovative. Be consistent. They're not just words on a wall. They're how we want to work with our clients and each other. Our team is recognised in Doyle's Guide and Best Lawyers in Australia for Trusts and Estates, and our practice spans estate planning, estate administration, estate litigation, superannuation death benefit disputes and elder law.

Learn from two different perspectives You'll have the opportunity to work closely with*Carrie Payne and Kelly Gatehouse. Carrie is our estate planning Jedi, with deep expertise in sophisticated estate and succession planning. Kelly, Nurture Law's founder and Principal, brings extensive experience across estate litigation, administration and succession law — including seeing what happens when estate plans are ultimately put into action (or don't quite go to plan).

Together, that means you'll learn estate planning from both ends: how to build great plans and how to anticipate what could happen after death.

You'll have direct access to that experience — without layers of hierarchy — while being trusted to develop your own style, expertise and client relationships. The work This isn't a wills production line.

You'll work directly with clients on matters including: Wills and enduring powers of attorney;

Testamentary trusts;

Complex estate and succession planning;

Business and trust succession;

Blended family estate planning;

Superannuation and death benefit planning;

Planning involving companies, trusts and investment structures;

Identifying potential estate litigation and succession risks; and

Working with accountants, financial advisers and other professional advisers. You'll have ownership of your matters and client relationships, with the support of a specialist team around you. Who are we looking for? We're looking for someone with around 3–6+ years' PAE and solid experience in wills and estate planning.

Someone who: Genuinely enjoys estate planning;

Wants to become an exceptional specialist;

Is comfortable running files and leading client meetings;

Has strong technical and drafting skills;

Enjoys solving complex problems;

Can explain complicated things clearly;

Is curious and wants to keep learning;

Is kind, practical and collaborative; and

Wants their next move to take their career somewhere. You don't need to tick every box.

We're interested in the lawyer you are now — but we're just as interested in the lawyer you want to become. A genuine career path We're deliberately growing Nurture Law, and we want to build a firm where talented lawyers can have long-term careers.

So when we say there's room to progress, we mean it. As you grow, there'll be opportunities to take on increasingly sophisticated work, develop your own client and referrer relationships, build your profile in succession law, mentor others and play a meaningful role in shaping our estate planning practice. We want someone who can grow with us.

What you'll get ✔ Sophisticated estate planning work — not a high-volume wills practice

✔ A genuine career pathway in a growing specialist firm

✔ Real flexibility — because flexibility is actually one of our values

✔ Autonomy with support when you need it

✔ Strong administrative and paralegal support

✔ A modern, technology-enabled practice

✔ Opportunities to develop your profile and referral network

✔ A collaborative team with a genuine say in how we grow Curious? You don't need to be actively job hunting to talk to us. If this sounds like it might be your next move, send us your CV and a short introduction.

Or, if you're curious but not quite ready to apply, reach out to Kelly for a confidential chat about the role, Nurture Law and where we're going. No awkward interview. No expectation that you've already decided to leave your current role.

Just a conversation to see whether there might be a fit. Sometimes the best career moves start with a coffee, not an application. All enquiries and applications will be treated confidentially.
