About JMM

Jane Morgan Management (often known as JMM) is a Sydney-based investor and media relations firm, working primarily with ASX-listed companies, as well as selected private companies, emerging pre-IPO opportunities, investment funds, and growth-stage businesses. We have just celebrated our 20-year anniversary of the business, with Jane Morgan at the helm since its inception, as one of the most well-known firms of its kind in Australia. We have ambitious growth plans as we now move into this next chapter, both as a team and what we offer, including international expansion.

We are looking for an experienced Events Manager to take ownership of JMM's events program as the dedicated events contact, working closely with Jane Morgan and the senior team to plan, manage and deliver high-quality investor events, virtual forums, and corporate roadshows for clients across the entire calendar. About the role...

JMM assists its clients with their corporate image, high-quality media, digital marketing and creative, investor events and conferences, and overarching strategy for communication with investors, brokers, fund managers, high-net-worth individuals, sophisticated investors, media and other capital-markets participants. This is a hands-on events management role for someone who has already built a strong track record of several years' experience in corporate events, with direct experience in professional services, financial services, corporate conferences, and investor roadshows being an added bonus. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of JMM's events function as the dedicated events contact, taking charge of execution after working closely with Jane Morgan (Director) and other senior leadership to ideate a schedule and concepts for events for the calendar ahead.

This includes planning, logistics, systems, suppliers, stakeholders, attendee management and post-event follow-up. In the average calendar year (and as a starting point where JMM sits currently to help us move up from as we scale the events function of the business), your responsibilities would include:

Taking lead on 3 to 5 major in-person investor events each year, typically large luncheons or presentation-style events for around 50 to 150 attendees (working closely with Account Managers to coordinate with clients and companies presenting on the day).

Taking lead on 2 to 4 larger virtual investor events each year, often involving multiple presenters, online presentations, audience engagement and post-event distribution (working closely with Account Managers and an experienced Creative/Media Team to run the technical components).

Assisting with regular investor roadshows involving back-to-back meetings, smaller lunches and corporate access-style schedules across major Australian cities (working closely with Account Managers to coorindate with corporate clients and understand the objectives for the roadshow).

Event invitations, registration processes, CRM/database coordination, attendee lists, and follow-up communications (working cloesly with team members in Email Marketing and Digital functions of the business).

Coordination with ASX-listed company executives, brokers, investors, fund managers, high-net-worth individuals, family offices and other corporate contacts who may be involved (e.g., as speakers or sponsors).

Venue sourcing, vendor management, catering, AV and media, promotional material and merchandise, run sheets, speaker requirements, and on-the-day delivery.

Simple event-related promotional materials, including invitations, EDM assets, registration pages and social graphics, often using tools such as Canva.

Event reporting, attendee feedback, workflow improvements and recommendations for improving the quality, efficiency and profitability of JMM's events.

Assisting senior leadership with business development opportunities (as needed, wherever possible) for sourcing presenting companies, keynote speakers, sponsors, partnerships and co-hosts for events, all as part of ideation for the events calendar. You will be joining a team that has run investor events for many years, but this role is designed for someone who can take ownership of the events function as their specific day-to-day remit, and help us raise the standard of how our events are planned, systemised, and delivered as we continue to grow the team and our offerings moving into this next phase. What you will bring...

We are looking for someone with a few years of direct events management experience, owning or leading the planning and coordination of events in some capacity. This is not intended to be an entry-level event management role or the candidate's first position running events. You should bring:

Proven experience planning and managing events end-to-end, ideally as the lead or owner of the project (rather than assisting a larger team).

Experience in corporate events, with specific experience in qualified services, financial services, investor relations, corporate access, conferences, roadshows or similar environments being a big bonus.

A explicit understanding of event best practice, including attendee experience, registration flow, supplier coordination, run sheets, risk management and post-event follow-up.

Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders, including company executives, clients, speakers, investors, brokers and suppliers.

Ability to negotiate and deal with vendors and venues, including making arrangement with restaurants, events spaces, service providers (e.g., AV teams, photographers, etc.), sponsors and co-hosts, etc.

Strong project-management skills, with the ability to manage several events or roadshows at different stages of planning across the calendar, bringing up-to-date knowledge and best practices to the team to help us establish a higher standard for how we run our events (especially as with the view to expand internationally).

Experience using CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot or Salesforce), email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), ticketing or registration tools (e.g., Humanitix), booking systems and event-planning workflows, and able to bring best practices for how we can improve our events workflows.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, particularly across guest lists, dietary requirements, schedules, presenter details, venue requirements and event communications.

A professional manner and the confidence to represent JMM at events.

Competence with basic design and visual communication tools (e.g., Canva) for simple promotional and event materials where needed.

A practical,

organised and process-driven approach to improving event workflows.

Willingness to travel occasionally for events, investor lunches, and roadshows. Nice to have...

The following would be highly regarded, but are not essential to be considered for the role:

A genuine interest in investing, listed companies, capital markets, or the stock market.

Experience in financial services, wealth management, funds management, stockbroking, corporate access or investor relations.

Familiarity with ASX-listed companies and their obligations as public companies, as well as their styles of events (e.g., investor presentations, roadshows or capital-markets events).

Existing knowledge of major city's venues, restaurants, private dining rooms, and corporate event spaces (especially Sydney, with Perth and Melbourne as other close priorities).

Experience managing webinars, virtual conferences, or multi-presenter online events (as well as webinar/conferencing tools, as well as managing online registrations being a big bonus).

Experience improving event processes, supplier systems, templates, checklists, reporting and profitability to assist us with improving as we scale with our expansion plans.

Confidence suggesting new event formats, improvements or efficiencies once you understand the business and its audience. What's on offer...

This role would suit someone who enjoys the discipline of well-run corporate events, but also wants to work in a more relationship-led environment where events are closely connected to investor engagement, client service and capital-markets communication. As we want to scale the events function of the business while we move into our expansion plans, we are offering:

Generous salary range (plus superannuation), dependant on experience.

Potential for bonus compensation based on the ability to scale our events function to new heights, exceptional outocmes, improved profitability, stronger workflows, and especially increased event output or improvement in event quality and efficiency.

A Sydney CBD-based role, with flexibility available depending on event commitments and the needs of the business.

Hybrid or work-from-home arrangements generally possible for around two days per week, subject to events, roadshows and delivery requirements.

Direct exposure to Jane Morgan and JMM's expertise in the capital markets and financial services landscape of Sydney and broader Australia.

The opportunity to build relationships across the Australian capital-markets community, including brokers, investors, fund managers, high-net-worth individuals, family offices and listed-company executives.

Occasional travel for events, roadshows, and other opportunities, especially as we scale the events function.

Scope to improve and expand JMM's events function once established in the role (including hiring further team members where the opportunity and need arises with the increased scale of the events function in JMM possible down the line).

A team environment with existing experience in investor relations, media relations, corporate access, digital marketing, content, design and event delivery. Application...

As part of your application, please include your CV and a personal cover letter with a bit of background about yourself (your experience, why you are interested in investing or an opportunity in the capital markets, what is appealing to you about JMM, and a fun fact or two about yourself).
