Charter Diligence

Canberra

Our Client

Our client is an ACT Government organisation responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of major public events and experiences across Canberra.

The broader events function delivers some of the capital's most recognised festivals, celebrations and community events, attracting significant local and interstate visitation and contributing to Canberra's tourism economy.

This opportunity will support Floriade, Canberra's flagship spring festival. The 2026 event will run at Commonwealth Park until 11 October and feature more than one million blooms alongside live entertainment, workshops, market stalls, cultural performances and family activities.

The environment is fast-paced, practical and highly collaborative, bringing together event professionals, operational teams, contractors, suppliers, volunteers and other stakeholders to deliver a safe and memorable visitor experience.

Why Contract With Us

At Charter Diligence, we go beyond just placement - we support our contractors with practical benefits that reflect real-life needs. All contractors engaged through us have access to early cash advances on approved timesheets, offering flexibility in cases of unforeseen expenses or cash flow challenges. Unlike traditional labour hire providers, we understand that life doesn’t always align with a pay cycle - and we're here to help when it matters most.

Well, ask your mates if they’re already a Charter Diligence Contractor - chances are, they’re already benefiting from the support we provide.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and adaptable Events Officer to support the successful delivery of one of Canberra's largest annual public events.

This is not a desk-only events position. The successful candidate will combine strong administration and coordination capabilities with a practical approach to on-site event operations. You must be comfortable moving between administrative duties and working outdoors across a busy event site, including spending extended periods on your feet.

You will work closely with the event delivery team to coordinate documentation, logistics, stakeholders and day-to-day operational requirements. During event delivery, you will provide hands-on support across the site and respond quickly to changing priorities.

This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, remains organised under pressure and is equally comfortable working through detailed administrative tasks and solving practical issues in an outdoor event environment.
