As an APS 4 store person at HMAS Cairns, you will be an integral part of a small but extremely important team assisting ADF Units with all Explosive Ordnance (EO) requirements.
About our Team
This is a dynamic and busy team where you will act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) advising Command on all aspects of Explosive Ordnance.
One of the essential requirements to working in these conditions is ensuring commitment to maintaining a safe work environment is at the forefront of all activities.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will perform straightforward inventory management work within an integrated workforce. You are required to have basic understanding of and compliance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.

- Perform work against established priorities and procedures.
- Complete allocated tasks within required timeframes and procedures.
- Also undertake a range of procedural, clerical and administrative support tasks to support their work unit.
- Contribute to team discussions to achieve outcomes and will seek assistance when required.
- Involve regular contact with ADF personnel as well as contractors and supporting commercial companies.
- Be required to travel interstate to conduct training for courses if not completed already.
- Work with an enthusiastic workforce to support Navy’s ships and contribute to the nation’s security and humanitarian response efforts.
Eligibility
Security Clearance:
Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
