About AgXtra
AgXtra is a family-owned Australian agricultural research company delivering applied field research across broadacre, horticulture and viticulture. Our work supports the development and commercialisation of innovations that make a real difference for growers and industry.
Our people are central to everything we do. We value trust, teamwork and pride in our work, and we’re committed to creating a protected, supportive environment where practical skills, learning and continuous improvement are encouraged.
We are currently seeking a passionate, hands-on Field Operations Officer to join our Adelaide-based team.
About the role
As a Field Operations Officer, you’ll play a critical role in supporting the delivery of applied research and plant breeding programs within our Broadacre business. Based at Newton, this is a hands-on field operations role focused on trial establishment, in-crop maintenance and harvest activities.
You’ll work closely with the Hub Lead and wider team to carry out field operations safely and efficiently,
operate and maintain machinery, support trial quality and hygiene, and contribute to well-presented, professionally run trial sites that meet AgXtra’s quality standards.
About you
You’re practical, reliable and enjoy working outdoors in a field-based environment. You have a strong machinery aptitude, take pride in the quality of your work and pay close attention to detail.
You’re a team player who communicates clearly, follows procedures, and takes safety seriously. You’re flexible during peak periods, hold a valid driver’s licence, and are willing to travel and work extended hours during sowing and harvest as required. A current HR truck licence is desirable, or the willingness to undertake training for one, is essential.
If you’re looking for a hands-on role in applied agricultural research and want to be part of a supportive, values-driven team, we’d love to hear from you.
