Finance Assistant – Part Time

St Patrick’s Community Support Centre (St Pat’s) is a leading homelessness support service and community housing provider in Perth’s South Metropolitan region. For more than 50 years, we have worked alongside people experiencing homelessness and disadvantage, providing housing, health, support and community services.

We are looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team and provide accurate, timely and reliable financial administration support across the organisation.

The role is 22.5 hours per week, with working days to be agreed. Some flexibility is available, however, availability at month end is required.

About the role

Reporting to the Accountant, you will provide day-to-day financial and administrative support across St Pat’s, including:

- Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Completing accurate financial and tenancy account reconciliations.
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register across St Pat’s entities.
- Recording and reconciling tenant debtor housing accounts.
- Assisting with rent and amenity income processing.
- Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes and reporting requirements.
- Managing banking, petty cash, bonds, vehicle records and controls.
- Administering food and SmartRider vouchers.
- Working with Housing Officers to investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting effective financial controls.
- Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and systems.
- Providing responsive and professional support to internal stakeholders.

About you





We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and highly attentive to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

You will ideally have

- Demonstrated experience in a finance or accounting support role.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
- Experience using accounting or financial management systems.
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- A Diploma-level accounting qualification or higher.

Experience with Chintaro and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central will be highly regarded.
