Finance Manager | Newly Created Role | Brisbane CBD | c. $140K Package Incentive

Charterhouse is exclusively partnering with an established, small, owner-managed professional services firm in Brisbane CBD to appoint an entrepreneurial Finance Manager into a newly created role. The business is well-regarded in its sector and entering an exciting growth phase. Having previously outsourced its finance function, it's now bringing this capability in-house, and looking for someone to own the numbers while partnering closely with the CEO, senior leadership team and CFO.

This is a broad, commercially focused role for an accountant who wants genuine ownership and real influence over how a growing business operates.

The Role

As Finance Manager, you'll be the financial backbone of the business: owning the day-to-day finance function, leading the transition of bookkeeping and payroll in-house, and delivering the commercial insight that shapes decision-making at the top.

Key responsibilities include:

- Owning the end-to-end finance function: AP, AR, payroll, reconciliations and reporting
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Managing BAS, GST, PAYG, superannuation and other statutory obligations
- Leading budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
- Partnering with the CEO and leadership team on financial and commercial decisions
- Identifying opportunities to improve margins, reduce costs and drive efficiencies
- Reviewing pricing structures to lift profitability
- Translating financial data into clear insight for non-finance stakeholders
- Managing the transition from outsourced bookkeeping to an in-house function
- Strengthening financial controls,



systems and processes

About You You're an experienced Accountant who's equally comfortable hands-on in the detail and operating commercially with senior stakeholders. You move easily between transactional finance and strategic analysis, and you're confident working autonomously.

You'll ideally bring:

- CPA/CA qualification (or working towards it)
- 4–5 years' experience in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of Australian accounting, tax and compliance
- Professional services or consulting experience highly regarded

You're a natural communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, a proactive, solutions-focused mindset, and genuine entrepreneurial drive; someone who thrives in a fast-paced, owner-managed environment where autonomy translates into real impact. Why This Role

This isn't a traditional Finance Manager job where you simply produce the numbers. You'll build and shape the finance function from the ground up, work directly with the CEO and leadership team, and play a genuine role in driving the commercial performance of the business.

Arrangement: Full-time or 4-day week considered; hybrid and adaptable working available

Salary: Circa $120K–$140K package (incl. super), depending on experience and arrangement, plus potential performance-based incentive Location: Brisbane CBD, close to public transport
