The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, BBC Digital, Canon Australia's largest reseller, is seeking an experienced and driven Financial Accountant to join our Southport team.

This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a quick-paced, multi-branch environment. You will work closely with the Financial Controller and Executive Team, taking ownership of assessing sales orders/contracts, overseeing debt collection process plus core financial accounting duties, providing insightful reports of business performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

Credit Approvals & Compliance

- Monitor and manage credit approval workflows within the CRM;

- Approve standard contracts and escalate complex cases;

- Ensure timely completion of daily credit assessments;

Accounting & Financial Management

- Process monthly/yearly General Ledger journals including accruals, prepayments, leases, depreciation and intercompany reconciliations and charges;

- Ensure the accuracy of general ledgers and the reconciliation of balance sheet;

- Reconcile inter-branch and loan accounts;

- Process weekly payroll;

- Maintain accurate wage and expense allocations across the group;

- Manage finance-related customer account reconciliations and payouts;

Collections/Bad Debts

- Assist with collection of aged debtors and bad debts;

- Run monthly aged debtors meetings;

- Maintain relationships with stakeholders such as Credit Reporting Bureau; Company Lawyers;

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

- Collaborate with accounts, payroll, purchasing,



and branch teams;

- Support and mentor administrative and finance staff;

- Identify and implement process improvements across reporting and workflows;

- Proactively manage outstanding debts and reduce debtor days;

- Analyse costs and recommend efficiency improvements;

To be successful for this role, you will have:

- Degree qualified in Accounting;

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a commercial accounting role;

- Strong experience across general ledger, P&L;, balance sheet reconciliations, and management reporting;

- Experience with integrated accounting systems (ICE or similar highly regarded);

- Strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to work across multiple teams;

- Demonstrated ability to mentor or lead team members;

- Detail-oriented, proactive, and commercially focused;

- Professional, reliable, and deadline-driven Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline;
