About Our Client A small, growing business with a lean finance function that reports directly to the CFO. The business operates in a niche area of financial services. Genuine scope to own processes rather than just execute them, in an setting where one person's work is directly visible.
Responsibilities
- General ledger management, including regular journalling to maintain accurate financial data for internal and external reporting
- Month end close, including monthly journalling, accruals and reconciliations
- Assisting with monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting
- Managing accounts payable and receivable functions,
including employee expenses and payroll
- Overseeing daily cash flow and assisting with cash flow forecasting
- Managing periodic direct and indirect tax reporting, including income tax, GST, FBT and payroll tax
- Liaising with external stakeholders such as auditors, suppliers, the ATO and ASIC, as well as internal stakeholders
- Assisting with documentation of processes, policies and technical accounting position papers
- Supporting process improvement and identifying cost savings
- Additional ad hoc duties as required by the CFO
Requirements
- CA or CPA qualified, or close to completion
- Prior audit background highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience owning month end close and AU tax reporting
- Comfortable working across the full function, from transactional to technical
