Who we work with: Independent creatives only — no agencies About the Role The Social Media Coach is building a network of exceptional freelance shooters and editors across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We’re not looking for traditional production crews or highly polished corporate videographers. We’re looking for independent creatives who understand social media, storytelling and culture, people who know how to turn an idea, person, product or moment into content people actually want to watch.

You should be just as comfortable shooting on an iPhone as you are thinking about the opening hook, finding an unexpected angle or changing the shot because you know the original idea isn't going to hold attention.

What You'll Do You'll work with our team to bring social-first creative concepts to life for a range of brands and founders. Depending on the project, you'll: Shoot social-first content on iPhone in 4K

Edit short-form content for Instagram, TikTok and other social platforms

Turn creative briefs into engaging visual stories

Find interesting shots, moments and angles beyond what's written in the brief

Capture strong hooks and opening frames

Direct talent confidently and make people feel comfortable on camera

Understand pacing, retention and what keeps someone watching

Capture enough variation and supporting footage to give the edit options

Work collaboratively with our strategy and creative team





Deliver organised footage and edits within agreed timelines What We're Looking For We're looking for creatives with a strong instinct for storytelling, not just technically valuable camera operators. You'll ideally: Have experience creating social-first video content

Understand TikTok, Reels and the way people consume content on social

Have a strong creative eye and point of view

Know how to tell a story in 15–60 seconds

Understand hooks, pacing, transitions and retention

Be confident shooting high-quality 4K footage on iPhone

Have strong short-form editing skills

Be able to take a brief and add your own creative thinking

Be reliable, organised and easy to work with

Be based in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane You don't need a huge production setup. We care much more about your ideas, taste and ability to tell a story.

This is important. We do not partner with agencies or production companies.

We deliberately work directly with independent shooters, editors and content creators.
