Blind Freddy’s Café – Wodonga, VIC

Blind Freddy’s Café is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable and customer-focused Barista / Front of House team member to join our friendly team.

We are a busy local café serving breakfast, lunch, great coffee and a wide range of café favourites. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in providing excellent customer service and works well as part of a team.

About the Role

This position will involve a combination of barista duties and general front-of-house responsibilities. The successful applicant should be confident communicating with customers, working efficiently during busy service periods and maintaining a clean and welcoming café environment.

Previous café or hospitality experience is highly regarded, particularly barista experience.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Preparing and serving high-quality espresso-based coffees and other beverages

- Dialling in coffee, monitoring grind and maintaining coffee quality throughout the day

- Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently

- Providing friendly and professional customer service

- Operating the POS system and processing cash and card payments

- Running food and beverages to customers

- Clearing and resetting tables

- Assisting customers with menu enquiries and dietary requirements

- Maintaining a clean and organised coffee station and front-of-house area

- Restocking milk, cups, takeaway packaging, drinks and other supplies

- Cleaning coffee equipment and completing daily cleaning duties

- Washing and organising cups, glasses and front-of-house equipment when required

- Assisting with opening and closing procedures





- Helping maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace cleanliness standards

- Communicating effectively with kitchen and front-of-house team members

- Handling busy service periods calmly and efficiently

- Creating a welcoming and positive experience for every customer

- Assisting with other café duties as required

What We Are Looking For The ideal applicant will:

- Have previous barista, café or hospitality experience

- Be confident making a range of espresso-based coffees

- Have excellent customer service and communication skills

- Be reliable, punctual and well presented

- Be able to work quickly while maintaining attention to detail

- Be comfortable working in a busy café environment

- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic

- Work well independently and as part of a team

- Be willing to learn and take direction

- Be available for weekday and/or weekend shifts

- Have a strong understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards
