Position

Our client is seeking a Palliative Care Consultant to join the team in a full-time capacity.

Opportunity

As a Consultant Physician, you will provide expert palliative medical care and clinical leadership across the Specialist Palliative Care Service. This includes supporting the Specialist Palliative Care Consultancy Team, the Community Specialist Palliative Care Service, and the Inpatient Specialist Palliative Care Unit.

The role offers a valuable opportunity to shape and enhance palliative care services across the region, contributing to service planning and development. You will also be encouraged to support and expand research initiatives within the department, strengthening the service’s academic and clinical profile.

Hospital

The hospital delivers a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and mental health services to a catchment population of more than 110,000 people. With close to 300 beds and a broad network of primary and community health services,



it serves as the major acute referral centre for the South West Region. The facility hosts a clinical school affiliated with Deakin University and is the largest employer in the region, playing a central role in healthcare delivery and medical education.

Location

Located approximately three hours from Melbourne, this vibrant university city is renowned for its stunning coastline and natural beauty. With a population of around 34,000 and a broader regional catchment of 100,000, it serves as the hub of Victoria’s Excellent South Coast.
