Use your nursing experience to strengthen an entire workforce
Are you an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about education, clinical leadership and improving the quality and safety of care?
Activated Concepts is seeking a Clinical Lead – Nursing, Education & Governance to provide organisation-wide nursing leadership across our disability and aged care services.
This is not primarily a shift-based or direct-care nursing position. The predominant focus is on:
- Training and workforce capability
- Clinical advice and staff support
- Clinical governance and quality improvement
- Risk and incident oversight
- Care-plan and documentation review
- Supporting safe and contemporary practice across our services
The position may suit an experienced Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Clinical Governance Lead or senior Registered Nurse seeking a flexible role where their expertise can influence practice across multiple teams.
About the role
Working alongside our service leaders, governance team and Managing Director, you will help ensure our staff are supported to provide protected, person-centred and clinically appropriate care.
You will provide nursing leadership across disability and aged care programs, including NDIS supports, community-based services and our developing aged care service streams.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and delivering practical nursing, health, risk and compliance training
- Supporting the induction, competency and ongoing development of nurses and frontline support staff
- Providing clinical guidance, mentoring and reflective practice support
- Facilitating clinical meetings, case discussions and multidisciplinary reviews
- Providing senior nursing input into complex participant needs and clinical decision-making
- Reviewing clinical care plans, medical management plans and other health-related documentation
- Supporting staff to develop safe, person-centred and least-intrusive approaches to care
- Contributing to clinical incident reviews, root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Supporting clinical audits, documentation reviews and continuous improvement activities
- Identifying and escalating clinical risks to service and governance leaders
- Contributing nursing expertise to clinical governance, quality, risk and leadership meetings
- Assisting with the development and review of clinical policies, procedures, tools and practice resources
- Working with The Clinical College to develop and deliver internal and external training
- Liaising with GPs, hospitals, allied health professionals and external nursing providers when required
There may be some direct participant and family consultation where senior nursing input is needed. However, the role’s principal purpose is to strengthen staff capability, clinical oversight and organisational systems—not to carry a routine nursing caseload.
A flexible opportunity
We are open to discussing either a permanent part-time or casual arrangement with the right person.
The position may suit someone seeking:
- Regular part-time hours
- A flexible casual clinical leadership role
- A role alongside existing education, consulting or nursing commitments
- An opportunity to move from predominantly direct care into education and governance
- A pathway to contribute to future training programs through The Clinical College
Some regular availability will be important to support scheduled training, governance meetings, staff consultation and continuity across our services.
About you
You are an experienced and approachable Registered Nurse who can translate clinical knowledge into practical guidance for staff.
You are comfortable working across different service environments and can balance strong clinical standards with a supportive, respectful and solutions-focused approach.
You will bring:
- A Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
- At least five years of post-registration nursing experience
- Experience in aged care, disability, community nursing, mental health or related services
- Experience in a clinical leadership, education, advisory or senior nursing position
- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, incident review and quality improvement
- Experience reviewing clinical documentation, care plans and health-related support arrangements
- Strong written communication and clinical documentation skills
- Confidence facilitating training, meetings and professional discussions
- The ability to provide clear, evidence-informed advice to staff and organisational leaders
- A strong commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed and dignity-driven care
Training and education experience
A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment—TAE40122 or equivalent—is highly desirable.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have experience in:
- Nursing or clinical education
- Staff competency assessment
- Developing training content and resources
- Clinical coaching or skilled supervision
- Delivering education to multidisciplinary or frontline workforces
- Supporting accredited or non-accredited training
Postgraduate qualifications in clinical education, aged care, disability, leadership, governance or quality improvement will also be highly regarded.
