Role Description This part time Graduate Data Engineer role at Converflex - Grupo Arcor is based in Melbourne, VIC in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site work with some work from home. The role involves assisting in the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines to support business reporting and analytics needs. Day-to-day tasks include supporting data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, helping structure and model data for use in data warehouses, and collaborating with senior data engineers and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

The Graduate Data

Engineer will document data workflows, contribute to data quality checks, and participate in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues. The role also includes learning and applying best practices in data engineering, working with modern data tools, and contributing to continuous improvement of data processes.

Qualifications

Foundational skills in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing, with the ability to support scalable data solutions.





Understanding of Data Modeling concepts to help design structured and efficient data schemas.

Ability to work with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes, including basic development, monitoring, and optimization.

Competence in Data Analytics to interpret datasets and support reporting and business insights.

Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).

Basic knowledge of cloud or on-premise data platforms and databases (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or relational databases).

Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills, with a willingness to learn and adapt.

Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and manage time effectively in a hybrid work environment.

Relevant tertiary qualification or near completion in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
